Meet the Secretariat
The Secretariat is the nine-person team tasked with running the entire conference. From overseeing the hundreds of staff members to liaising with the thousands of delegates that attend the conference, it is their leadership that makes HNMUN the most well-run, prestigious Model UN conference in the world.
Omar E. Darwish
SECRETARY-GENERAL
Omar is a senior at Harvard College studying Economics and Government with a concentration in Arabic. Born in Alexandria, Egypt, he later moved to New York City, where he joined his High school's Model United Nations team.
In his seven years of Model UN, Omar has served as a Head Delegate of Harvard’s competitive Model UN team, ICMUN, Under-Secretary-General of Crisis Committees for HNMUN 2025, and Under-Secretary-General of Administration for HMUN Dubai 2025. He also staffed the HNMUN ADHOC during his freshman and Sophomore years.
Outside of regularly competing on the circuit, Omar is involved in pre-professional and cultural groups on campus. In his free time, Omar enjoys keeping up with the latest fixtures of soccer and basketball games, spending time with friends, and the occasional Revenge of the Sith rewatch. Omar can not wait to welcome you to the best HNMUN yet!

Liv G. Serio
DIRECTOR-GENERAL
Liv is a junior in Quincy house studying English with a minor in Economics from Rochester, Michigan. Liv is incredibly excited to serve as the Director-General for HNMUN 2026!
Liv has competed in Model UN for 6 years, staffed both HMUN and HNMUN 2024, served as Director of Innovation on Harvard's Intercollegiate Model United Nations team, directed at HMUN India, and served as both USG of Finance at HNMUN 2025 and USG Committees at HMUN India 2025. Outside of Model UN, Liv is involved in Harvard College Consulting Group and JFK Jr. Forum Committee. In her free time, Liv enjoys reading, traveling, hiking, and cackling with her friends. Liv cannot wait to welcome all of our incredible delegates to HNMUN 2026!

Frannie M. Krause
UNDER-SECRETARY-GENERAL for ADMINISTRATION
Frannie is a sophomore studying the History of Art and Architecture and Classical Civilizations. Originally from Bronxville, New York, Frannie first got involved with Model UN through Bronxville MUN, where she spent four years on the high school circuit, in both GA and Crisis, and was team captain in her senior year. Since coming to college, she has been a part of both HMUN and HNMUN. She is so excited to return to HNMUN as the Under-Secretary-General for Administration at the 72nd session!
Outside of Model UN, she is a tour guide with Harvard Admissions and is a member of the Hasty Pudding Theatricals Business Staff as Ticket Sales Manager.

Alia S. Marrero-Alattar
UNDER-SECRETARY-GENERAL for BUSINESS
Alia Marrero-Alattar is a junior at Harvard double concentrating in Government and History & Literature from Puerto Rico. Having worked the HNMUN Biz team for the past 2 years she is excited to be part of this year’s secretariat! Having participated in Model UN since high school, Alia is thrilled to see her passion for international relations intertwine with her love of party planning. When not at the biz booth, Alia enjoys spontaneous adventuring with her friends, both social and performative dancing, and reading books on the beach back home.

Noreen H. Mohamed
UNDER-SECRETARY-GENERAL for FINANCE
Noreen is a junior in Dunster House concentrating in Economics with a secondary in Computer Science from Raleigh, North Carolina (go Tar Heels!). After being an Assistant Director at HNMUN 2025, she is incredibly excited to serve on HNMUN’s Secretariat as the Under-Secretary-General for Finance in the upcoming iteration of the conference.
Beyond HNMUN, Noreen also competes on Harvard’s Intercollegiate Model United Nations team and serves as the Deputy Director of Crisis Training where she gets to stay far, far away from GAs. Outside of Model UN, she is also an Associate Director of Engagement at the Harvard Undergraduate Consulting Group and loves traveling with friends in her free time. Noreen looks forward to meeting all the amazing delegates in February!

Emily L. Chen
UNDER-SECRETARY-GENERAL for OPERATIONS
Emily is a sophomore in Eliot House from Toronto, Canada planning on studying Economics and Environmental Science and Public Policy.
Emily discovered her passion for Model United Nations in grade 9 and has remained actively involved ever since. At Harvard, she competes with the Intercollegiate Model United Nations (ICMUN) team and has staffed both HMUN and HNMUN 2025. She looks forward to directing at HMUN China 2025 and serving as Under-Secretary-General for Operations at HNMUN 2026. Additionally, Emily is President of the Model Security Council within the International Relations Council and writes for the Harvard International Review.
Outside of Model UN, Emily participates in consulting clubs, volunteers at a local homeless shelter, conducts policy research, and dances with the Asian American Dance Troupe. In her spare time, she enjoys playing ice hockey, drawing, hiking, baking, exploring new restaurants, and visiting art museums.

Kenith W. Taukolo
UNDER-SECRETARY-GENERAL for THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY
Kenith Taukolo is a junior in Lowell House studying Environmental Science and Engineering. Originally from the suburbs of Chicago, Illinois, he first got involved in Model UN his sophomore year of high school, and is so excited to serve as the Under-Secretary-General for the General Assemblies.
Kenith currently serves as one of the Head Delegates for the Harvard Intercollegiate Model United Nations travel team, and loves competing in the double delegate GAs. He also served as a director for HNMUN Boston 2025, chairing the JCC: European Space Agency.
Outside of Model UN, Kenith is often seen sipping matcha lattes, struggling to code in R, or playing Spikeball in Lowell courtyard. Kenith cannot wait to meet everyone at HNMUN 2026!

Saarah S. Hassan
UNDER-SECRETARY-GENERAL for THE ECONOMIC AND SOCIAL COUNCIL
Saarah Hassan is a sophomore at Harvard College studying Government with a secondary in Global Health and Health Policy. Originally from Mankato, Minnesota, she joined Model UN in her freshman fall and has since competed at numerous conferences across the country.
Outside the collegiate circuit, Saarah has directed at HMUN, HMUN India, and HMUN Dubai. She currently serves as the Deputy Director of GA Training for Harvard’s Intercollegiate Model UN Team and as the Director of Engagement for the Model Security Council, the recruitment branch of the Harvard International Relations Committee.
Beyond MUN, she is involved in Youth Lead the Change, the World Pre-Health Conference, and the theater community at Harvard. In her free time, Saarah enjoys going on walks, exploring the city, and laughing with friends and family late into the night. Saarah is incredibly excited for HNMUN 2026 and can’t wait to meet all the talented delegates!

Fayyaz Razi
UNDER-SECRETARY-GENERAL for THE Crisis Committees
Fayyaz is a junior at Harvard studying Government with a secondary in Astrophysics. He was born and raised in Kalamazoo, Michigan, but spent time in Dammam, Saudi Arabia; Dhaka, Bangladesh; and Singapore growing up.
Fayyaz currently serves as one of the Head Delegates for Harvard Intercollegiate Model United Nations, as USG of Committees for HMUN Dubai 2026, and has directed at HMUN Australia 2025, HMUN India 2025, and at the past iterations of HMUN and HNMUN. Outside of MUN, Fayyaz enjoys traveling (shoutout Google Flights!), playing pickleball, and watching investigative documentaries on YouTube.
