Consejo Internacional sobre Transporte y Aviación Sostenibles
Confronting Systemic Risk in the International Aviation Sector
Director: Isabella Raskin Calvo & Jorge Zafrilla Díaz
This committee will be resolution-based.
Topic Summary
Welcome to Cielos Limpios, Caminos Verdes: Consejo Internacional sobre Transporte y Aviación Sostenibles (CITAS). In this committee, you are faced with a dilemma: your aircraft and airline company is facing an imminent and pressing issue, and in order to evade this situation you must collaborate most effectively by strengthening and forming new connections with a veriety of sectors. Indeed, you must solve this problem as soon as possible, considering the economic, environmental, political, and humanitarian implication of this disaster and its possible solutions. By emphasizing collaboration between the global north and the global south, as well sustainable practices in the aviation industry, this committee invites you to be as creative as possible, bringing together nations to literally and figuratively, connect the world via the aviation industry. If you are a global minded delegate with an interest in sustainability, or want to learn about international geopolitics, environmental friendliness, and transportation, this committee is for you, and we look forward to welcoming you.
Director’s Letter
Dear delegates,
It is my pleasure to welcome you to the Bilingual Committee for the 2026 session of Harvard Model United Nations! I am honored to serve as your Director, and I look forward to our teamwork and problem-solving over the course of our time together.
My name is Isabella Raskin Calvo, and I am a rising sophomore in Quincy House here at Harvard. Although I am studying chemistry and physics, MUN and the humanities have been a part of my life since high school. Besides professional experience and learnings, MUN has taught me lifelong applicable lessons, helping me develop crucial skills like public speaking, confidence, patience, and collaboration. I am eternally glad that I deepened my relationship with MUN during college, whether this be by staffing HNMUN and HMUN in 2025, and HNMUN-LA in 2026. I hope to use all of the skills and lessons I have developed over this time to deliver a rewarding and enriching experience that honors your hard work.
Outside of MUN, I spend much of my time volunteering on campus, whether this be through tutorship, giving tours around Harvard, or teaching in classrooms. I am a huge chess nerd, I love spending time with friends and I adore travelling.
I am here for you every step of the way, from the early stages of your research to the closing remarks of our session. Please reach out to me with any questions or concerns, and I look forward to engaging with you all!
Sincerely,
Isabella Raskin Calvo

Director’s Letter
Dear delegates,
My name is Jorge Zafrilla Díaz, and I have the privilege of serving as your Director. I am currently a sophomore at Harvard University, where I study Economics, Philosophy, and History of Art, though I originally come from Madrid, Spain. As for extracurricular activities, I am involved in multiple organizations within the International Relations Council here at Harvard. I also spend time planning art exhibitions for the Harvard Undergraduate Architecture Society and working as a research assistant.
Regarding MUN, I had my first experience before arriving at college. Since then, I have continued to participate in debates with Harvard’s intercollegiate MUN team (ICMUN), and I’ve also had the opportunity to explore the other side of conferences, serving as Assistant Director for the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) within the Regional and Specialized Crisis Organs at HMUN 2025, as well as for Council O4, also in Crisis, at HNMUN that same year.
Best,
Jorge Zafrilla Díaz
